Today, Kartell’s past and present merge in the form of the KD28 lamp by Joe Colombo, which assumes a new lease of life and returns to the Kartell Lighting range. First introduced back in 1967, this lamp still maintains its original innovative spirit but has been adapted to modern-day needs by the use of advanced materials and technology. It is now made from recycled materials and boasts a satin-finish shade that projects a warmer, more enveloping light. Attention to detail has provided a fabric-covered power cable in the same colour as the base. Drawing on a rich past but with a clear focus on the future, the renewed KD28 is therefore a perfect symbol of Kartell’s stylistic and creative continuity.
The KD28 lamp by Joe Colombo retains its original 1967 design, reinterpreted with recycled materials and contemporary lighting solutions. • The structure remains faithful to the historic proportions, while the dome-shaped diffuser now features a matte finish that ensures a softer, more even light distribution, enhancing visual comfort. • Special attention is given to the details, such as the fabric-covered power cable, which is perfectly color-coordinated with the base, adding a refined technical touch.
